Monteverdi Vocal Masterclass
21-23 Mar 2017
In this vocal masterclass led by Jill FELDMAN, participants will receive intensive training on vocal production, study Monteverdi’s musical style and performance practices, and learn to articulate Italian diction in the context of Monteverdi madrigals.
Participants will be entitled complimentary tickets to SingFest’s concert, DISCOVER Monteverdi Madrigal: War and Love, to be held at Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre Theatre on 19 May 2017 (Fri).
Details of the masterclass are as follows:
Dates: 21-23 Mar 2017 (Tue-Thu)
Fee: HK$800 per day (inclusive of one afternoon session and one evening session)
Quota: 16
Academic requirement: Vocal major (or with equivalent experience)
Application method: Applicants should send us an audio recording of his/her own singing of an Italian Baroque aria to info@singfest.hk on or before 28 Feb 2017 (Tue) for pre-screening. Successful candidates will be notified in early March.

Jill FELDMAN
American-born soprano, Jill Feldman, is a leading artist in the field of medieval, baroque and classical performances. Her highly expressive style combines an agile vocal technique with close attention to the dramatic content, beauty and meaning of the text.
In 1981, at the request of William Christie, Jill Feldman joined Les Arts Florissants in Paris. With this renowned ensemble she created the title-role of Charpentier’s Médée. Feldman has appeared under the direction of such distinguished musicians as Frans Brüggen (Haydn’s Creation), Andrew Parrot (Handel’s Carmelite Vespers EMI), Jordi Savall (DeLalande Motets), and René Jacobs (Cesti Orontea, Cavalli Xerses Harmonia Mundi). She sang the role of Minerva in Monteverdi's Il Ritorno d'Ulissi in Patria at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, and the role of Belinda in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas for the Opera du Rhin in Strasbourg. She performed in the Bach Magnificat at the Palais Garnier, Opéra de Paris as well as in Rameau's Anacréon for the Edinburgh Festival and the Opéra de Versailles.
Feldman studied in San Francisco, Basel and Paris and graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She currently teaches at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague, at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Zürich, for the Accademia di Musica Antiga in Portugal, and for the Amici della musica di Firenze.
蒙台威爾第 聲樂大師班

由美國著名女高音費潔宜指導，參加者將會接受連串緊湊的聲樂訓練，內容包括發聲技巧、蒙台威爾第的樂曲與演奏風格，以及蒙台威爾第的牧歌為題材，掌握意大利歌曲的咬字發音。
參加者可免費獲得聲蜚合唱節《DISCOVER Monteverdi Madrigal: War and Love》音樂會門票，音樂會將會在2017年5月19日(星期五)假西灣河文娛中心劇院舉行。

費潔宜
美國女高音費潔宜是中世紀、巴洛克及古典時期音樂演奏領域中首屈一指的藝術家，她富於表現力的風格，結合靈活的歌唱技巧與對文字的戲劇內容、美感和含義的細察。
1981年，費潔宜應創辦人克威廉的邀請，加入著名的巴黎「芳熙盛藝團」，在夏龐蒂埃《美狄亞》中擔演同名角色。她曾在許多傑出音樂家的領導下演出，包括布魯根（海頓《創世紀》）、帕洛特（海頓《卡梅賴特晚禱》百代唱片）、沙瓦爾（拉蘭德《經文歌》）和雅各（切斯蒂《奧朗泰》及卡瓦利《薛西斯》樂滿地唱片）。她曾在阿姆斯特丹音樂廳飾演蒙台威爾第《尤裡西斯歸鄉記》裡的密涅瓦；在史特拉斯堡萊茵歌劇院飾演普賽爾《狄朵與埃涅阿斯》裡的貝琳達。她又曾在巴黎歌劇院演出巴赫《聖母讚主曲》；在愛丁堡藝術節和凡爾賽歌劇院演出拉莫《亞奈奇翁》。
費潔宜曾於三藩市、巴塞爾和巴黎留學，畢業於加州大學聖塔芭芭拉分校，現任教於海牙皇家音樂學院、蘇黎世音樂戲劇學院、葡萄牙古樂學院和佛羅倫斯音樂之友協會。
